Job Description:
Guidewire is seeking a motivated Software Engineer with a focus on data engineering to develop scalable data pipelines and platform solutions. The candidate will work with big data technologies and cloud services to support data integration and optimization efforts for the P&C insurance sector.

Responsibilities:

• Build robust, efficient, and scalable data pipelines
• Manage and optimize platform solutions for data engineering needs
• Write clean, maintainable code using Python or Java
• Ensure data quality, security, and integrity across pipelines
• Optimize data workflows for cost and performance
• Document data processes and infrastructure
• Stay updated on big data and cloud computing trends
• Innovate and enhance existing data infrastructure

Requirements:

• 2+ years of software engineering experience focused on data engineering
• Strong programming skills in Python or Java
• Experience with Big Data tools: Apache Spark, Amazon EMR, Iceberg, Redshift, or similar
• Knowledge of RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB)
• Experience with AWS cloud services: Lambda, S3, Athena, Glue
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with event-driven and serverless architecture
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
