Role Overview – DevOps Engineer

Position: DevOps Engineer
Location: Bengaluru, India
Employment Type: Full-Time

The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in automating and modernizing voice technology deployments across on-premise data centers and public cloud platforms.
This is a high-impact, infrastructure-focused role that supports scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across Five9’s global systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks for automating deployment of voice technologies.
• Own and operate automation pipelines and production-grade infrastructure in distributed environments.
• Lead and implement DevOps best practices, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Drive modernization initiatives to optimize voice platform automation.
• Analyze recurring platform or network incidents and introduce automation to minimize operational risks.
• Create detailed documentation and operational handoffs to ensure smooth transitions.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to operational and engineering teams.
• Promote a collaborative, agile culture aligned with CI/CD and DevOps principles.
• Build highly reliable systems that enhance customer experience through Five9’s voice infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in engineering, DevOps, or operations roles within telecom or service provider environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Proven experience in AWS Cloud Services and cloud-native module development.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux systems, especially CLI-based operations and shell scripting.
• Experience working with REST APIs and developing web service integrations.
• Skilled in CI/CD automation pipelines using GitLab or similar tools.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in cloud telephony or voice infrastructure.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch.
• Understanding of network automation and security best practices.
