Role Overview – Software Engineer Intern (Systest Engineer)

EA is hiring a Software Engineer Intern in the CT – IT department at Hyderabad. This is a temporary, on-site internship designed for students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

As an intern, you will work on game testing, automation, and scalable platform systems, gaining hands-on experience in C++, Scala, Python, cloud platforms, and test automation.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and integrate automation tools to improve efficiency.
• Develop, maintain, and improve game call pattern simulation code in C++/Scala.
• Perform stress and load testing using gameplay-driven scenarios.
• Set up complex distributed test environments to run tests and generate load.
• Analyze and troubleshoot system and network performance issues.
• Identify root causes of issues and distinguish test-related vs system component issues.
• Collaborate with peers to track and resolve technical problems.
• Communicate test status and results clearly to the team.
• Adhere to EA’s policies, NDAs, and security guidelines.
• Prompt reporting and handling of multiple tasks with agility.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
• Knowledge of programming languages: C++, Scala, Python.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms: AWS preferred, GCP or Azure acceptable.
• Understanding of scalable platform architecture and end-to-end system design.
• Passion for problem solving and technical innovation.
• Experience with visualization tools (Grafana, etc.) and databases (MySQL, Redis, etc.).
• Ability to work independently, manage workload, and deliver high-quality results.
