Job Overview

Barclays is hiring a DevOps Engineer in Pune, India, to support and accelerate the delivery of mission-critical location strategy projects. As part of the Corporate Digital Banking technology division, you will work on transforming large-scale digital systems, enabling automation, maintaining cloud infrastructure, and driving the evolution of the bank’s digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Core DevOps Responsibilities

• Support delivery of technology projects within scope, budget, and governance standards.
• Manage and streamline release, deployment, and change management processes (ITIL).
• Provide Application / Technical Support for production and non-production environments.
• Work with UNIX/Linux/Windows systems for server-level troubleshooting.
• Work extensively with AWS Cloud, including:
  • EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda
  • Infrastructure automation via Terraform, Chef, CI/CD pipelines

Data Engineering Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Ensure data is durable, consistent, secure, and accessible.
• Design solutions for handling large-scale data volumes and velocity.
• Develop processing algorithms for data analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists to deploy machine learning models.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

• Experience in Application or Technical Support.
• Strong understanding of deployment, release & change management (ITIL).
• Hands-on knowledge of UNIX/Linux/Windows administration.
• Strong experience with:
  • AWS Cloud Services
  • Terraform, Chef, CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure troubleshooting and automation

Additional Preferred Skills

• Advanced practical experience with AWS, Terraform, Chef
• System-level troubleshooting on Unix platforms
• Strong documentation skills
• Familiarity with global banking technology operations
