About the Role

Join Barclays as an AWS Cloud Engineer, where you'll lead cloud innovation and data transformation initiatives within our Enterprise Data Platforms business area. You'll play a vital role in building cloud-based data pipelines, warehouses, and lake solutions that drive business insights across the global Barclays network.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data architectures and cloud data pipelines
• Develop and deploy data warehouses and data lakes for high-volume processing
• Use AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Athena, S3, and Lake Formation
• Collaborate with data scientists on model deployment and infrastructure
• Implement secure and scalable cloud solutions adhering to governance and compliance
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations

Required Skills

• 3–6 years of experience with AWS Cloud Services and Data Engineering
• Proficient in core AWS tools: EC2, Lambda, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, ECS, CloudFormation, CloudWatch
• Strong understanding of data processing workflows, analytics platforms, and governance
• Hands-on experience with Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, and Redshift
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
• Sound knowledge of data mapping, technical flow design, and solution architecture

Desirable Skills

• Strong experience delivering complex AWS-based solutions in enterprise environments
• Ability to work on multiple parallel projects with Agile methodology
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Exposure to FinTech environments and secure banking-grade cloud deployments
