Job Description:

Join Barclays’ Corporate Digital Banking team as a Software Engineer where you will architect and build high-performance financial applications at scale. You’ll work with Spring, Core Java, Oracle, and Kafka to drive innovation for millions of users and enhance critical banking infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver scalable, high-performance Java software
• Work on Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and API development using OAuth2 and JWT
• Write optimized Oracle SQL queries, stored procedures, and schema designs
• Collaborate with product managers and architects on solution strategies
• Ensure adherence to secure coding and unit testing practices (JUnit, Mockito)
• Participate in code reviews, drive DevOps readiness, and improve CI/CD workflows
• Contribute to risk controls, secure development, and production readiness
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs with robust documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Engage in performance tuning and monitoring for mission-critical services

Required Skills:

• Core Java, Spring (Security, AOP, ORM, Transactions)
• Oracle SQL: Performance tuning, complex queries, DB normalization
• REST API Design, Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth2 & JWT
• Unit Testing: JUnit, Mockito
• Apache Kafka for asynchronous event streaming
• Version control (Bitbucket) and CI tools (TeamCity)
• Familiar with security-first development principles
