Job Description:

Barclays is hiring a Software Engineer – Integration (Linux) to drive innovation and enhance their digital platforms. This role involves building OSS infrastructure and toolchains that support the Barclays Global Network. You'll join a high-impact team within the GTIS business area and contribute to cloud-native solutions, middleware integrations, and advanced data processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable, high-performance software solutions in Linux environments
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, ELT processes, containerized microservices, and APIs
• Integrate data platforms and middleware (Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Flink, Airflow)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on architecture, development, and deployment
• Apply SRE principles: SLI/SLO definitions, system observability with Prometheus, ELK
• Ensure adherence to secure coding, testing, and documentation practices
• Lead innovation through automation, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Jenkins, GitOps)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Programming experience in Python, Java, or Golang
• Hands-on with DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Ansible)
• Middleware experience with Kafka, API Gateways, and modern integration patterns
• Experience with data engineering tools and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake)
• Strong knowledge of ELT pipelines and infrastructure-as-code principles
• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering and system performance monitoring
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and SDLC processes
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
