About the Role
The DevOps Engineer will design, develop, and administer continuous integration and deployment solutions across the Assurant NZ Auto technology stack. This includes automation of configuration management, observability tools, and infrastructure processes.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Strategy
- Automate configuration for all environments: Dev, QA, UAT, pre-prod, and production.
- Recommend and implement effective software deployment strategies.
- Use configuration management tools and code to streamline deployment.
Design & Development
- Build and optimize automation across the technology stack.
- Support automated testing systems in CI/CD pipelines.
- Create self-service tools for engineering teams.
- Contribute to infrastructure architecture and DevOps strategy.
Collaboration & Support
- Assist teams in software development and infrastructure management.
- Use reusable tools and CI/CD patterns.
- Help implement and document infrastructure solutions.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay current on DevOps trends and best practices.
- Implement observability and security solutions globally.
- Test and implement new metrics collection systems.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Conduct training for engineers on software-defined processes.
- Turn troubleshooting events into team learning moments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a DevOps role.
- Proficient in Windows; Linux knowledge is a plus.
- Experience with C#, YAML, Python, PowerShell, Node.js, SQL.
- Expertise in Azure, ADO, GitHub Actions, and DevOps services.
- Skilled in using Dynatrace, NewRelic, Azure Monitor.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools, infrastructure automation, and security.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with infrastructure as code.
- Understanding of modern monitoring systems and incident response.
- Strong multitasking and task prioritization abilities.
- Passion for continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
