Job Description

Zingg AI is hiring a Software Engineer to join its high-performing distributed data platform team. You’ll play a vital role in enhancing the Zingg open-source entity resolution product by developing fuzzy matching algorithms, optimizing performance, and improving scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Zingg’s open source and enterprise features.
• Design and implement algorithms for record matching and graph processing.
• Write clean, modular, scalable, and well-tested code in Java.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and performance test suites.
• Tune performance in distributed environments (Spark, Snowflake).
• Engage in rapid prototyping in response to customer feedback.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and provide support for open-source users.

Required Skills

• Strong coding skills in Java (generics, annotations).
• Experience with distributed computing (e.g., Apache Spark).
• Familiarity with graph processing, Linux CLI, and distributed databases.
• Emphasis on code modularity, performance, and maintainability.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency in Python and software design patterns.
• Prior experience at a product-based company.
• Contributions to open-source projects (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Postgres).
• Experience publishing Python packages.
