Job Description

Verisk is hiring a Software Engineer II to join its Property Claims Tech Team in Hyderabad. This role is ideal for candidates with strong backend development experience in Java, AWS cloud systems, SQL databases, and RESTful APIs.

You will build scalable, cloud-native applications serving the UK insurance industry, working in Agile squads and contributing to cutting-edge SaaS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack web applications using Java, Vue.js/React, SQL, and AWS.
• Build and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs to integrate with global systems.
• Design scalable microservices and serverless architecture (AWS Lambda).
• Deliver end-to-end features including design, development, deployment, and documentation.
• Participate in daily Agile ceremonies and collaborate on sprint deliverables.
• Ensure high-quality code through TDD, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide third-line production support and contribute to continuous improvement.

Skills Required

• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Java development
• Frontend experience with Vue.js, React, or Angular
• Strong SQL experience – ideally with Microsoft SQL Server
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB)
• Experience with AWS cloud services and serverless functions
• Familiarity with Git, Agile (Scrum), and collaborative team environments
• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Experience with AWS Lambda, Azure DevOps, or TDD methodologies
• Prior work in insurance, claims tech, or BFSI sectors
• Exposure to message queues, distributed systems, and low-code platforms
• Familiarity with automation testing tools and DevOps pipelines
