Role Overview

Uzvi Services is seeking trained Server and VMware Administrators to support a mission-critical enterprise server migration project involving multiple Java-based application environments. This role provides hands-on exposure to Linux infrastructure, virtualization technologies, UNIX environments, and large-scale migration strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Server Migration & Infrastructure Support

• Support migration of applications from legacy UNIX/IBM systems to Linux-based servers.
• Assist in planning and executing enterprise migration workflows.
• Monitor systems post-migration to ensure stability and performance.
• Maintain detailed migration documentation for audit and operational readiness.

VMware Administration

• Assist in VMware virtual machine migration, cloning, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Support virtualization infrastructure to ensure high availability.
• Collaborate with project teams to resolve environment-related issues.

Linux / UNIX Administration

• Perform basic Linux and UNIX server administration during migration cycles.
• Manage user permissions, system configurations, and server health checks.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and escalate when required.

Collaboration & Operational Excellence

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams during migration phases.
• Follow enterprise best practices for server reliability and security.
• Contribute to process improvements for faster and safer migrations.
