Job Overview

Join Tucows Domains as a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to design, automate, and optimize large-scale cloud-native infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering teams, leading modernization efforts using EKS, ECS, Terraform, and GitOps.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure (EKS, EC2, RDS, etc.)
  • Automate deployments using CI/CD pipelines and scripting (Python, Bash, Go)
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Lead modernization and migration from legacy systems to cloud-native setups
  • Enforce AWS security and compliance best practices (IAM, VPC, SGs)
  • Collaborate in agile, remote-first teams across multiple engineering projects
  • Provide mentorship, hands-on support, and continuous delivery optimization

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years in DevOps or systems engineering (AWS preferred)
  • Strong AWS expertise (EKS, ECS, EC2, S3, VPC, IAM)
  • IaC: Terraform, CloudFormation, GitOps workflows
  • CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar
  • Proficiency in scripting: Python, Bash, or Go
  • Understanding of containers, Linux fundamentals, and observability tools
  • Collaboration and communication in distributed team environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professional Certification
  • Experience in multi-cloud (GCP, OpenStack)
  • Background in Linux/Unix system administration
  • Familiarity with SaltStack, Ansible, or similar tools
  • Mentoring or team leadership experience
