Role Overview

As an MMS System Engineer, you'll support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of the Hitachi ABB Market Management System (MMS) in energy market operations. This role demands expertise in system installation, data integration, scripting automation, and security compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• System Installation & Configuration

  • Deploy MMS on Linux-based platforms
  • Apply infrastructure patches and updates (Oracle, third-party tools)

• Data Integration & Validation

  • Interface MMS with SCADA, EMS, and other external systems via ICCP, CIM
  • Validate and monitor data sources for accuracy

• Automation & Scripting

  • Use Ansible to automate system tasks and deployment workflows

• Performance Optimization

  • Monitor system health and implement improvements

• Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and manage user access/security

• Documentation

  • Maintain clear and comprehensive system documentation and performance reports

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Hitachi ABB MMS systems
• Strong Linux system administration skills
• Knowledge of protocols: ICCP, CIM, REST/SOAP APIs
• Experience using Ansible for automation and deployment
• Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Scripting: Python, Shell
• Experience in power systems or energy markets
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes
• Understanding of cybersecurity standards for critical infrastructure
