Role Overview

Data Engineers at Thoughtworks are responsible for building, maintaining, and testing the software architecture and infrastructure for managing data applications. They play a key role in developing core capabilities that include technical and functional data platforms. Data engineers work with big data tools and frameworks (such as data mesh) and engage in collaborative problem-solving to execute strategies.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with team members to design complex data processing pipelines, addressing clients' toughest challenges.
• Work with data scientists to design scalable implementations of models.
• Write clean, iterative code using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and deploy data pipelines.
• Apply different standard models for big data and create data models using various techniques.
• Incorporate data quality principles into day-to-day tasks.

Job Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python, Spark, and Pyspark.
• Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Exposure to ML, Data Analytics, or Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with data modeling and modern data engineering tools.
• Experience in building data pipelines and data-centric applications using distributed storage and processing platforms.
• Knowledge of data visualization techniques for presenting insights effectively.
• Awareness of data governance, security, and privacy strategies.
• Experience with different types of databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
