Company Overview – Synthlane Technologies

Synthlane Technologies is a deep-tech company building next-generation Voice AI (VoiceAl) systems that operate in high-security, high-reliability production environments. Our platforms run across cloud infrastructure, GPU-based systems, and on-premise client networks with strict performance, compliance, and uptime requirements.

We solve complex problems in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps automation, platform reliability, cybersecurity, and large-scale distributed systems. Our engineering culture values ownership, reliability, documentation, and real-world production impact.

Internship Role Overview – DevOps Engineer (Infrastructure + QA)

This is not a shadow internship. As a DevOps Engineer Intern, you will work directly on production-grade infrastructure, monitoring systems, CI/CD workflows, cloud deployments, and QA validation pipelines for enterprise Voice AI platforms.

You will gain hands-on exposure to Kubernetes clusters, Terraform infrastructure, GPU workloads, cloud networking, incident response, monitoring, and release reliability engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering

  • Assist in managing Kubernetes production clusters for scalable Voice AI workloads.
  • Support GPU infrastructure provisioning, scheduling, scaling, and reliability monitoring.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Work with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud environments.
  • Support on-premise and hybrid cloud deployments for enterprise clients.
  • Ensure infrastructure changes are reviewed, traceable, reproducible, and documented.

Monitoring, Reliability & Operations

  • Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting systems using Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty (or equivalents).
  • Define and validate reliability metrics including uptime checks, error budgets, and deployment safety checks.
  • Participate in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and post-incident summaries.
  • Improve system stability through preventive reliability improvements.

QA for Infrastructure & Product Workflows

  • Convert PRDs and user stories into test scenarios and validation checklists.
  • Perform manual testing of web applications across browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari).
  • Test REST APIs using Postman, Insomnia, curl, validating edge cases and error handling.
  • Perform basic database validation using SQL (SELECT, WHERE, JOIN).
  • Track tasks and issues using Jira, Linear, or ClickUp with clear reproduction steps and acceptance criteria.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Core Technical Skills

  • Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on production experience with Terraform.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider: AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems administration.
  • Scripting skills using Python and/or Bash.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals:
    • VPC / VNET
    • Subnets
    • Routing
    • VPNs
    • Security Groups / Firewalls

DevOps & Platform Knowledge

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, and modern DevOps tooling.

    • Secrets management
    • Least privilege access
    • Audit logging
  • Strong documentation habits including runbooks, deployment notes, and checklists.

Professional Attributes

  • Very high ownership and accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-level thinking.
  • Ability to clearly explain what you are doing, why it matters, risks involved, and validation approach.
  • Excellent attention to detail — reliability depends on small details.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-impact production environments.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Exposure to bare-metal or on-premise infrastructure.
  • Experience with GPU workloads or ML/AI infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience with modern developer tools and Git workflows.
  • Contributions to open-source DevOps, Kubernetes, or infrastructure projects.

  • Work on enterprise Voice AI systems used by real clients.
  • Learn true site reliability engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Direct mentorship from experienced infrastructure engineers.
  • High visibility, fast learning, and strong conversion to full-time DevOps Engineer roles.
