Position Overview: AWS Cloud Engineer

Syensqo is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will work closely with architects, DevOps leads, and operations teams to deliver optimized and secure environments that support enterprise-scale applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure and scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS/GCP services
• Develop automated deployment pipelines using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
• Implement security practices (IAM, encryption, network policies) to meet compliance and business standards
• Design backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for critical systems
• Maintain architecture and troubleshooting documentation
• Collaborate with architects and operations managers to roll out MVPs and production deployments
• Stay updated on new cloud features and recommend enhancements

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s or certifications are a plus)
• 2–5 years of hands-on experience with AWS/GCP cloud engineering
• Experience with services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC
• Proficiency in IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with CI/CD tools: GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins
• Deep knowledge of networking, VPN, security groups, and routing in cloud
• Familiar with monitoring/logging tools like Datadog, Splunk
• Cybersecurity expertise including access control, encryption, identity management
• Preferably certified: AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Admin, or DevOps Engineer
