The Opportunity

Join Swiss Re’s GDS Machine Learning Operations team as a Platforms Engineer I and contribute to building, optimizing, and maintaining machine learning models. Collaborate with business groups to anticipate client needs, implement MLOps and LLMOps best practices, and ensure secure and cost-effective systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and retrain machine learning models and algorithms with data scientists and engineers
• Implement big data processing workflows and pipelines for large-scale datasets
• Promote and apply MLOps and LLMOps best practices for model deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Maintain and enhance data science and machine learning platforms for performance and reliability
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand needs and deliver tailored ML solutions
• Ensure security and cost-efficiency of systems and solutions

About You

Essentials

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field
• 1+ years experience in machine learning model development, deployment, and maintenance
• Proficiency in Python, R, or similar programming languages
• Experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
• Familiarity with big data tools such as Spark
• Knowledge of MLOps and LLMOps tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, etc.)
• Willingness to learn Swiss Re's Palantir Foundry platform (prior experience a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Prior experience in reinsurance or financial services is a plus
