Role Overview
As a Linux Support Engineer at SUSE, you will provide enterprise-level technical support for the SUSE Linux product portfolio. You’ll troubleshoot complex issues, engage with customers directly, and work closely with global teams to maintain high system availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide OS-level support for SUSE Enterprise Linux customers.
• Troubleshoot installation, configuration, boot, and performance issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis for reported problems.
• Replicate customer issues in a technical lab environment for solutions.
• Communicate with customers via email, remote sessions, and occasional calls.
• Collaborate with development teams on bug fixes and feature requests.
• Maintain and contribute to technical knowledge resources.
• Work in a 24x7 global support environment with shift rotations, including weekends and on-call duties.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (SCA, RHCSA, or LPIC-1 preferred).
• 2+ years in technical support or Linux system administration.
• Proficient in troubleshooting Linux-based systems.
• Basic Bash scripting skills.
• Expertise or knowledge in:
  • High Availability / Clustering technologies
  • Storage solutions (SAN, LVM, iSCSI, multipathing)
  • Networking protocols and concepts
  • LDAP, Kerberos, Samba, Active Directory
  • Non-x86_64 architectures
