Job Description

Vocera, now part of Stryker, is hiring a DevOps Engineer to work on AWS, Azure, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) for private and public cloud environments. The role requires supporting day-to-day SaaS operations, automation of deployments, configuration management, and system reliability.

This is an opportunity to work on a global-scale cloud platform, collaborating with engineering, support, and product teams while building secure and automated systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop long-term operational plans for growth and high availability.
• Configure and administer AWS production environments.
• Build automation scripts for deployment and configuration management.
• Upgrade live applications with minimum downtime using Blue/Green and Canary deployments.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure with Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Troubleshoot and monitor cloud systems with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• Harden production environments and manage secure access.
• Work on microservices deployments using Docker and Kubernetes (AWS EKS).
• Support multiple SaaS applications for internal and external customers.
• Manage databases: MySQL, MariaDB, SQL Server.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–3 years of DevOps experience in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, Route53, CloudFront, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CloudFormation).
• Basic knowledge of Azure services.
• At least 2 years of DevOps engineering experience preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes (EKS, Kops).
• Experience with Helm, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Jenkins.
• Cloud security and networking knowledge (pfSense, Palo Alto firewalls).
• Experience with Python scripting, automation frameworks.
• Monitoring and alerting with Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty.
• SaaS/Enterprise software engineering background.
