Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize MySQL (v5.7/8.0) databases for performance and scalability
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
- Collaborate with developers to integrate databases into application logic
- Perform routine maintenance, backup, recovery, and performance tuning
- Monitor and resolve slow queries, locking issues, and data consistency problems
- Participate in database design and code reviews
- Ensure documentation and compliance with security standards
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of MySQL v5.7/8.0, data modeling, and relational database design
- Query optimization, execution plan analysis, and performance tuning
- Proficient in ETL, data migration, and database version control
- Experience with cloud deployments (AWS RDS / Azure Database for MySQL)
- Stored procedures, indexes, triggers, and schema optimization
Good to Have Skills
- Experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis
- Familiarity with tools like MySQL Workbench, Percona Toolkit, phpMyAdmin
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools for DB integration
- Experience working with ORMs like Django, Hibernate, Laravel
