Internship Overview – DevOps Engineer (IT Infrastructure)

SoFi is hiring a DevOps Engineer Intern to join its IT Infrastructure Engineering team, supporting banking systems, trading platforms, investment services, and financial data infrastructure used by millions of global users.

This role provides hands-on FinTech DevOps experience, working with high-availability systems, secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD automation, and large-scale financial platforms.

What You’ll Work On

• Build, test, and deploy scalable DevOps solutions for FinTech platforms
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for banking, investing, and stock trading systems
• Automate infrastructure using Terraform and GitLab CI
• Develop automation scripts using Python
• Improve system reliability, scalability, performance, and security
• Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, Security, and Platform Engineering teams
• Reduce operational overhead through automation
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and design reviews
• Present a production-grade DevOps project to SoFi leadership

Eligibility & Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited US-based university
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Expected graduation: Dec 2026 or Spring 2027)
• Must return to school after internship
• Less than 12 months full-time professional experience (excluding internships)
• Willing to relocate to San Francisco Bay Area
• Basic experience with Python
• Exposure to Terraform or GitLab through projects or internships
• Understanding of DevOps fundamentals, systems design, and cloud concepts
