Job Description
Socure is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our dynamic team of software engineers. In this role, you'll collaborate with product engineering and product management teams to develop advanced fraud detection and account intelligence products. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from conception to production, while working in an agile environment with continuous mentorship and growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science) to develop features and products.
- Deliver software components from conception to production, owning specific features or system components.
- Write high-quality, performant, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Participate in design and implementation discussions for backend applications.
- Assist in resolving production issues and addressing bugs to maintain system stability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical experience from a coding bootcamp.
- Up to 3 years of experience in software engineering, especially in backend/full-stack development.
- Familiarity with Java, Scala, SQL/NoSQL, and AWS.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of engineering best practices and a proactive approach to improving tooling and processes.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of new technologies or programming languages quickly.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-centric mindset.
