Role Summary
The DevOps Engineer will support R&D Software Engineering teams within the Sports Medicine division by developing, maintaining, and optimizing AWS-based cloud infrastructure. The role focuses on Infrastructure as Code, containerization, system observability, cloud security, and CI/CD practices for highly regulated medical software products.
This position is well-suited for professionals looking to work in enterprise-scale cloud environments, healthcare software platforms, and globally distributed engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Support container-based application architectures using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
- Assist in implementing security best practices, including IAM, network security, logging, and compliance controls.
- Configure and monitor cloud performance, availability, and reliability using observability and monitoring tools.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, version control strategies, and release management processes.
- Support documentation, validation, and compliance requirements for regulated medical device software.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to continuously improve DevOps workflows and automation strategies.
- Participate in the full software product lifecycle, including production support for released products.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Master’s or doctoral degree is preferred but not mandatory
Professional Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
Technical Skills
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including:
- EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, CloudWatch
- Understanding of cloud networking, scalability, and fault tolerance
Containerization & Automation
- Hands-on experience with Docker
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration concepts
Operating Systems & Scripting
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix system administration
- Basic to intermediate scripting skills using Bash or Python
DevOps & Engineering Practices
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and build tools
- Understanding of monitoring, logging, and observability concepts
Certifications (Preferred)
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Kubernetes Certification (CKA or CKAD)
