Role Overview: Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and scaling the infrastructure that powers Sense's platform. Your expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and DevOps best practices will help us maintain operational excellence in a growing, distributed system.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and scale infrastructure (Compute, Datastores, Cloud Services) powering Sense’s applications.
• Solve complex performance and architecture issues as our platform scales.
• Automate infrastructure tasks (Infra-as-Code, CI/CD, monitoring, alerting, cost tracking).
• Monitor production systems and ensure high uptime with long-term fixes.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident resolution planning.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with cloud-based backend services such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, MySQL, Postgres, etc.
• Hands-on with Linux system administration in production environments.
• Strong understanding of networking, system fundamentals, and distributed systems architecture.
• Proficient in scripting and using high-level programming languages for DevOps tools.
• Ability to manage infrastructure components like load balancers, web servers, databases, and queue systems.

Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with AWS (EC2, VPC, S3).
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker, Podman, and orchestration tools like ECS or Nomad.
• Experience in startup or high-growth environments is a plus.
