Job Description:

The DevOps Engineer role at Russell Investments involves developing and maintaining automated solutions for software delivery. The individual will be working with cross-functional teams to improve the software lifecycle, troubleshoot problems, and implement best practices for efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

• Technical Skills and DevOps Expertise:

  • Collaborate with multiple teams to develop and maintain best practice software delivery standards.
  • Root cause analysis and problem resolution.
  • Participate in architecture design and software delivery lifecycle improvement.
  • Assist with containerization and streamlining applications.

• Communication and Collaboration:

  • Respond to outages and escalations related to the software delivery pipeline during off hours.
  • Work with senior DevOps members to improve the software delivery pipeline using scalable approaches.
  • Maintain quality documentation and effectively communicate with internal and external teams.

• Core Competencies:

  • Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate clearly.
  • Proactive in seizing new opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to adapt to changing requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline (Advanced degree preferred).
• Experience: 10-15 years in DevOps or similar roles.
  • Strong experience with Chef, Splunk, GitLab, Octopus, Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker, Nagios, AppDynamics, Ansible.
  • Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.
  • Experience in CI/CD systems and software development practices.
  • Familiarity with C#, .NET, Python, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
  • Financial services experience is a plus.
