Position Overview

The Engineering Operations team at Riverbed is looking for a DevOps Engineer to enhance engineering productivity and streamline operational practices. You will work in a collaborative, high-standard environment focusing on automation, tool creation, and improving engineering practices using cutting-edge methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Process & Automation

• Collaborate with teams to design and automate processes.
• Develop monitoring automation for Engineering Infrastructure and Resources.
• Organize and drive larger projects to completion.

Design & Development

• Build and enhance automation systems using Python, Java, Bash, and Git.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, Bitbucket).
• Develop self-service tools and solutions for teams.

Infrastructure & Cloud Maintenance

• Maintain and update cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes.
• Improve infrastructure reliability with monitoring and automatic recovery.

Collaboration & Training

• Mentor team members and improve team velocity.
• Assist with tools and services such as Jira, Confluence.
• Work with agile development processes (Scrum, Kanban).

What Makes You Ideal for This Role?

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code in an object-oriented paradigm.
• Solid Linux skills and problem-solving capabilities.
• Basic system administration and networking skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with Atlassian tools, VM creation tools, Linux container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with network protocols and tools (ip, ping, nslookup).
• Experience in System Administration of hardware resources.
