Role Overview

As a DevOps Support & Testing Engineer, you will ensure seamless operations across Cloud and Self-Hosted Kubernetes-based environments. You will bridge engineering and community support by handling technical inquiries on Discord and GitHub with clarity, precision, and actionable solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier-2 support for infrastructure issues involving Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, and containerized workloads.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve deployment, scaling, and performance problems in production.
  • Triage and respond to community-reported issues on Discord and GitHub with clear documentation.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of infrastructure changes, including CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Create runbooks, internal documentation, and knowledge base contributions for team reference.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve infrastructure reliability and automation.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for production support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s), Docker, Helm charts, and container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP preferred) and associated tools like Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Strong technical support skills through Discord/GitHub with excellent written communication.
  • Experience in infrastructure testing methodologies (load testing, chaos engineering a plus).
  • Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automation and troubleshooting.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced SaaS environments, collaborating remotely using tools like Slack and GitHub.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Open-source contributions or community support experience.
  • Knowledge of SOC2/ISO compliance workflows.
  • Familiarity with Plane’s tech stack: React, Rust, PostgreSQL, Next.js.
