Role Overview

News Corp is looking for a motivated Compute Operations Intern eager to build a career in IT infrastructure, cloud technologies, and backend engineering. You will work within agile teams, receive mentorship from experienced engineers, and gain exposure to enterprise infrastructure operations.

Infrastructure Learning & Operations

• Learn and support core IT infrastructure technologies across compute, platform, or database domains.
• Follow standard operating procedures to perform routine operational tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Cloud & Infrastructure Fundamentals

• Completed coursework, certification, or projects in Cloud / AWS fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of compute, storage, and networking concepts.

Operating Systems

• Foundational knowledge of Linux and Windows.
• Familiarity with file systems, permissions, services, and troubleshooting basics.

Identity & Access Management

• Awareness of Active Directory concepts (users, groups, OUs, Group Policy).
• Understanding of authentication and authorization principles.

AWS Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of core AWS services such as:
  • EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Security Groups
• Understanding regions, availability zones, scaling, and cost awareness.

Infrastructure as Code

• Awareness of Terraform concepts including providers, state files, and modules.
• Ability to read and modify simple IaC code.

Programming & Automation

• Basic Python scripting knowledge (loops, functions, simple automation).
• Ability to understand and edit automation scripts.

• YAML fundamentals for configuration files.
• Basic knowledge of Git/GitHub (clone, commit, push, branching).

DevOps Awareness
