Job Description:

MSCI is hiring an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join its Index IT team. This is an opportunity to work on mission-critical financial data systems, building robust data pipelines and optimizing enterprise-level relational databases using Snowflake, Oracle, and Python.

As a part of a high-performing development team, you will work on backend services that power data intelligence and investment research platforms, contributing to a global impact in the finance domain.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize database structures and ETL pipelines in Oracle and Snowflake
• Write high-performance SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions
• Develop and manage secure, scalable data environments for financial analytics
• Automate data operations with Python scripting and shell automation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions
• Monitor and enhance performance of complex relational databases
• Document all data structures, flows, and ETL processes for audits and governance
• Follow best practices in coding, security, and agile development

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of software/database development experience
• 3+ years hands-on experience with PL/SQL and relational databases
• Strong Python programming skills for data engineering
• Advanced SQL query tuning and optimization knowledge
• Experience with ETL/ELT architecture and data migration techniques
• Working knowledge of data security and access control
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Snowflake Data Warehouse
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure knowledge
• Familiarity with data modeling (star/snowflake schemas)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database changes
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and Agile delivery
• Background in financial data systems or fintech
• Certifications in Snowflake, Oracle, or related areas
