Department Overview

The Junior DevOps Engineer will play a vital role within our IT operations team. The role offers hands-on experience in automating software delivery, assisting in deploying infrastructure, and optimizing performance across both on-premise and cloud environments. You will work closely with Cloud Operations, Development, QA, and IT teams to drive operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

As a Junior DevOps Engineer, you will:

• CI/CD Pipelines: Help set up and maintain Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines for various development projects.
• Version Control: Manage version control systems (e.g., Git), assist with code merges, and deployment coordination.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Learn and work with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure Monitoring: Participate in monitoring cloud and on-premises infrastructures using tools like Nagios, Grafana, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Automation Scripts: Contribute to developing automation scripts that streamline operational tasks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve build or deployment issues.
• Best Practices: Follow best practices for system administration, security, and deployment.
• Documentation: Help maintain system documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Technology Evaluation: Support the evaluation of new technologies to improve deployment processes.
• Resource Management: Assist in managing virtual servers, databases, and cloud/on-premises resources.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Software Development Knowledge: Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• System Administration: Basic understanding of Linux/Windows systems and network protocols.
• Scripting: Exposure to scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
• Automation Tools: Basic knowledge of automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef (optional).
• Problem-solving: Strong analytical skills with a focus on troubleshooting.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Knowledge of cloud technologies, specifically AWS, is a plus.
