Job Overview
KRAN is hiring a System Administrator Trainee to support and learn enterprise-level system administration and networking operations. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or early-career professionals seeking hands-on experience in Linux administration, cloud platforms, databases, networking, virtualization, and security systems.

The trainee will work closely with senior engineers to gain real-world exposure to production systems, infrastructure monitoring, automation, and IT operations, building a strong foundation for high-demand IT and cloud roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a strong working knowledge of Linux OS and system software.
• Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, routers, switches, storage devices, and network equipment.
• Support LAN, WAN, wireless networking, routing, and networking protocols.
• Monitor system and server performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Assist in managing user accounts, access rights, permissions, and identity management.
• Work with senior engineers to implement IT security controls, firewall rules, and system hardening practices.
• Provide technical support to end users and escalate complex incidents when required.
• Assist in database administration activities (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB).
• Participate in system backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity activities.
• Support cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Assist with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Gain exposure to containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and workflows.
• Learn security systems (Firewall, IPSec), hosting control panels (cPanel), and scripting (Bash/Shell).

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Linux system administration (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Understanding of Oracle Database architecture and administration concepts.
• Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash or Python for automation tasks.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration is an added advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, RHCT, CCNA, CCNP.
• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) – Oracle Database Administrator.
• Prior internship or hands-on lab experience in system administration or cloud computing.
