About the Role

KBR is hiring a Junior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to work on secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for government clients and scientific missions. This is a critical opportunity to build automation, cloud-native environments, and cost-efficient DevOps pipelines using the latest tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy secure AWS cloud infrastructure for enterprise-grade applications
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Runners or similar tools
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
• Automate cloud configurations with tools such as Ansible
• Support DevOps practices including monitoring, logging, and incident response
• Identify and implement cloud cost optimization strategies using FinOps principles
• Collaborate with solution architects, senior engineers, and security teams

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• AWS Associate-level certification (DevOps Engineer, Developer, or Solutions Architect)
• Terraform Associate Certification
• 6+ years in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or related field with focus on AWS
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, and automation tools
• Strong grasp of AWS networking, IAM, and cloud security
• Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Experience with tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet

Preferred Skills

• AWS Professional or Specialty Certifications (Security, Advanced Networking, etc.)
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Special Requirements

• 3 years continuous U.S. residency (mandatory)
• Candidate must pass a government background investigation
• Must be eligible to obtain government-issued credentials for secure facilities
