Job Summary

iQuery is hiring an Entry-Level Spider Programmer to develop, maintain, and support bots (automated programs) that crawl external websites to extract labor market data. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or junior developers interested in web scraping, data extraction, and automated QA workflows.

You will work onsite at iQuery's Palm Harbor, FL location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new spidering bots to extract structured data from websites
• Troubleshoot and repair broken bots to maintain data pipeline uptime
• Perform manual QA testing and ensure bots meet performance metrics
• Understand proxy usage for site crawling and compliance
• Maintain weekly productivity goals (70–175 bot repairs/week)
• Learn and document software tools and spidering logic
• Understand full data flow: spider → database → production systems

Required Skills

• Basic programming & scripting knowledge
• Good understanding of HTML and web technologies
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Familiar with Design Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Team Foundation Server
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills
• Willingness to learn new web automation tools (e.g., Kapow)

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science OR equivalent work experience
• Strong desire to grow in web crawling, bots, and automation development
• Must be physically present in Palm Harbor, Florida for work
