Job Description:

We are looking for a Database Engineer to optimize, migrate, and ensure the successful transition of PL/SQL stored procedures from Sybase IQ to SQL Server. The role involves troubleshooting, database migration, performance optimization, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Migrate PL/SQL stored procedures from Sybase IQ to T-SQL stored procedures for SQL Server
• Troubleshoot and debug PL/SQL and T-SQL stored procedures
• Ensure data integrity and consistency during the migration process
• Optimize SQL Server performance post-migration using techniques like indexing, partitioning, and query optimization
• Collaborate with senior engineers and database administrators to resolve migration-related challenges
• Participate in testing, including stress testing and performance validation
• Provide support in optimizing the SQL Server environment
• Document the migration process and best practices
• Use BCP OUT and BCP IN for efficient data transfer

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in database engineering or development, focusing on PL/SQL and T-SQL
• Proven experience in migrating PL/SQL stored procedures to T-SQL stored procedures
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server and experience in query optimization and performance tuning
• Hands-on experience with Sybase IQ and SQL Server migrations
• Strong troubleshooting skills with data integrity and performance issues
• Good collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with cloud databases (e.g., Azure SQL Server, AWS RDS)
• Experience with data security, backup strategies, and disaster recovery in SQL Server
• Experience using performance profiling tools
