About the Role

Heartland Business Systems (HBS) is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer I to develop, implement, and support Microsoft Cloud-based solutions for our diverse clientele, including K-12, SMB, enterprise, government, and global organizations.

This position offers exposure to Azure Infrastructure, M365, Entra ID, Security, and Cloud Automation. Ideal for candidates looking to grow in a global cloud engineering career.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultative cloud architecture support for clients.
• Build, configure, and maintain Azure infrastructure, M365, and security environments.
• Assist with cloud migration, security, and optimization projects.
• Implement and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust security models.
• Contribute to best practices, configuration standards, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams for seamless delivery of cloud solutions.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Computer Science or relevant certifications.
• 6 months – 1 year of technical experience (internship or professional).
• Hands-on with Azure Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS), Microsoft Intune, and Defender for Endpoint.
• Understanding of networking protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, Firewalls).
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements (PHI, PII, PCI).

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
• Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
• Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, (ISC)² CISSP/CCSP (preferred)
