Role Overview

The DevOps Automation Engineer I will build and support enterprise-level automation solutions to enable developer productivity, CI/CD pipelines, security, governance, and cloud infrastructure optimization.

This role acts as both a developer advocate and an automation engineer, ensuring smooth delivery pipelines and scalable infrastructure for mission-critical systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support tools/infrastructure for SDLC pipeline and configuration management.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure delivery.
  • Automate security, governance, and provisioning across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues, perform upgrades, and optimize performance.
  • Evangelize DevOps best practices and provide knowledge transfer to teams.
  • Act as an advocate for developer and stakeholder needs.
  • Manage intake queue in an Agile environment and provide after-hours/on-call support.
  • Track and report platform KPIs for stakeholders.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools: Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy.
  • Knowledge of configuration management: Ansible, Chef, Puppet.
  • Experience with IaC/provisioning: Terraform, ARM templates, CloudFormation.
  • Scripting & automation with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, JavaScript.
  • Experience with containers & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, S3), Azure (AKS, Functions, Cosmos DB).
  • Understanding of APIs, web technologies, and microservices.
  • Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS) and security (OAuth, SSL, reverse proxies).
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience & Education

  • 0–2 years in CI/CD implementation, automation, or configuration management.
  • Experience in enterprise environments preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications in Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, or DevOps are a plus.
