Job Description:

Join Gen's global digital safety team as an Intern Linux Systems Engineer for a 12-week summer internship in Prague. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience managing Linux infrastructure at scale and supporting engineering teams in a fast-paced, secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and manage Linux-based systems and infrastructure at scale
• Support engineering teams in deploying and operating backend services reliably
• Automate infrastructure tasks using Bash, Puppet, Terraform, and Python
• Troubleshoot basic system issues and monitor system health
• Shadow senior engineers to learn daily operations and infrastructure management
• Contribute to writing and updating automation scripts and configuration

Required Qualifications:

• Active full-time student or recent graduate with a passion for Linux beyond coursework
• Comfortable with Linux command line usage, including Bash scripting
• Experience installing and using Linux distributions for personal projects
• Good understanding of Linux OS, especially RHEL-based distros
• Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols
• Positive attitude, teamwork skills, and good communication in English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Python or other scripting languages
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet and Terraform
• Exposure to public cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure
• Basic Docker and Kubernetes knowledge
