Job Description

Join Ford's Enterprise Technology team as a Google Cloud Engineer where you'll work on cutting-edge projects involving CI/CD, Kubernetes, GCP infrastructure, and internal developer platforms. If you're a DevOps enthusiast with strong scripting skills, experience in Terraform and React, and love building resilient platforms, this is for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Tekton
• Develop Kubernetes and Tekton platform solutions to streamline development
• Deploy and manage GCP services using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Manage version control via Git with robust practices
• Create automation scripts using Bash, PowerShell, Python, and Go
• Build and enhance internal developer portals using Backstage and React
• Improve observability and service monitoring tools
• Troubleshoot development, deployment, and production issues
• Provide scheduled on-call support for production issues
• Continuously learn and apply latest trends in Kubernetes and GCP

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with GCP and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
• Strong scripting: Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, Tekton, Git version control
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Familiarity with React and developer tooling portals (e.g., Backstage)
• Proven troubleshooting abilities in distributed systems
• Excellent communication and a proactive mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years total relevant experience
• Advanced skills in Tekton, GitHub, Python, PowerShell, and cloud-native DevOps workflows
• Prior experience in platform engineering or site reliability engineering (SRE)
