About the Role
We are hiring a Junior Linux Administrator / Linux Support Engineer to manage, configure, and troubleshoot Linux servers. This role is ideal for freshers or candidates with basic Linux knowledge who want to start their career in system administration, DevOps, and IT infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain Linux-based servers and applications.
- Perform system administration tasks: user management, file systems, software installations.
- Assist with patch management and OS upgrades (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
- Troubleshoot and resolve system performance and security issues.
- Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Provide first-level Linux server support and escalate critical issues.
- Work closely with senior system administrators and DevOps engineers.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)
- Familiarity with command-line operations and shell scripting (Bash preferred)
- Understanding of file system structure, permissions, and package management
- Networking basics: IP, DNS, SSH, FTP, firewalls
- Exposure to monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM) and cloud platforms (AWS EC2, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with cron jobs, automation, and Linux shell scripting
