Job Overview:

The Economist Group is looking for a Cloud Support Engineer to support their global IT infrastructure with a focus on AWS and a general understanding of GCP and Azure. In this role, you will provide technical support, troubleshoot cloud-based infrastructure issues, and ensure the optimal performance and financial efficiency of the cloud environments. You will collaborate with multiple teams to ensure a robust and secure cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure AWS infrastructure solutions.
• Optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Newrelic, or similar.
• Enforce security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, and network segmentation.
• Support hybrid and multi-cloud environments with AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Develop documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and suggest relevant upgrades or changes.
• Provide escalations and support for end-user issues requiring infrastructure changes.

Candidate Profile:

• Extensive experience working with AWS, with exposure to on-premise environments.
• Strong knowledge of hybrid cloud architecture, AWS Direct Connect, VPN, VPC, etc.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub.
• Experience supporting technical teams such as Security, DevOps, and Engineering.
• Experience using Atlassian tools to manage, monitor, and plan workloads.
• Knowledge of on-premise servers, storage, and networking is a plus.
• Cultural awareness and experience working in international teams.

Performance Measures:

• Meeting recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO).
• Strong focus on security, performance, availability & recovery (SPAR).
• Deployment of new technologies and services.
• Adherence to IT policies and procedures.
