Role Summary

The Platform Engineer Intern will support EagleView’s Cloud Platform Engineering team, focusing on continuous delivery, developer enablement, cloud cost optimization (FinOps), and automation at scale. This role provides hands-on exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure, DevOps pipelines, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, AI/ML integrations, and observability platforms.

The intern will collaborate with software engineers, machine learning teams, and finance stakeholders, applying structured problem-solving approaches within a SAFe Agile framework to build scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to design and implement automation solutions using Python or similar programming languages.
• Contribute to AI/ML and GenAI integration projects to improve cloud infrastructure efficiency and operational scalability.
• Assist in DevOps and cloud infrastructure initiatives involving AWS, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Terraform.
• Support monitoring, observability, and reliability engineering to ensure high availability and performance of cloud services.
• Help design and maintain dashboards and visualization tools for platform metrics and cost optimization insights.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and automation issues with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term reliability.
• Provide structured progress updates, documentation, and technical reports to senior engineering stakeholders.
• Contribute, where applicable, to frontend or UI components using JavaScript or React for internal tooling and dashboards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python or equivalent languages with demonstrable project or internship experience.
• Practical understanding of AI/ML concepts as applied to software engineering, DevOps, or cloud platforms.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with Python, Golang, or similar backend programming languages.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code.
