Job Description:
DuckDuckGo, the trusted privacy-focused search engine and browser company, is hiring a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their remote-first global engineering team. You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure infrastructure supporting millions of users worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain reliable infrastructure with automation and monitoring
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues on distributed, large-scale deployments
- Develop tools and services to improve operational reliability and scalability
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure service uptime and performance
- Collaborate closely with software engineers to triage production incidents and drive remediation
- Lead and manage high-impact projects from design to post-mortem analysis
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Strong programming skills in Perl, Go, Python, or similar languages
- Deep expertise in Linux administration, web technologies, and cloud-native architectures
- Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and container orchestration
- Proven ability to analyze complex systems and develop innovative solutions
- Experience managing reliability in high-traffic, distributed systems
- Skilled in infrastructure provisioning and configuration automation
