Job Overview – DevOps Engineer

Dehazelabs is hiring a DevOps Engineer to join the Hadoop/Big Data Infrastructure Team.
This is a remote, full-time position open to candidates across India, with a night shift schedule.

The role involves managing and supporting large-scale distributed systems, automating infrastructure operations, and ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across 5000+ compute, storage, and distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for Hadoop clusters and Big Data tools such as HBase, Scylla, Hive/Hue, Kafka, and Storm.
• Automate deployments and operations to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Perform upgrades of Hadoop and related tools as needed.
• Fine-tune configurations using management tools like Puppet and InfraDB (in-house Ruby on Rails CM Database).
• Orchestrate deployments and services using Ansible.
• Implement continuous integration processes following change management protocols using Git and Gerrit.
• Develop monitoring and alerting scripts using Python and Bash/Shell scripting.
• Monitor system health using Nagios, Graphite, Grafana, OpenTSDB, and Prometheus.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance system and service performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Data Center Operations, NOC, Network, Database, and Engineering.
• Track and resolve incidents, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and maintain runbooks and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in DevOps, Big Data Infrastructure, or System Administration.
• Strong hands-on skills in Linux-based systems, automation, and monitoring tools.
• Expertise in CI/CD, Ansible, Puppet, Python, Bash/Shell scripting, and cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and team collaboration skills.
