About the Role

As a Cloud Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and ensuring the availability and performance of CDK Global’s cloud-based database systems. This role focuses on database administration, cloud technologies, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management: Administer, monitor, and maintain cloud-based database systems for optimal performance, high availability, and security compliance.
• Performance Tuning: Assess database performance and implement tuning measures to enhance response times and user experience.
• Data Security and Backup: Implement robust security measures, oversee backup operations, and ensure a reliable recovery plan.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Respond to database-related issues and outages, providing effective solutions with minimal business disruption.
• Migration and Updates: Plan and execute database migrations to cloud environments and manage version upgrades.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Work with cross-functional teams and maintain clear documentation of database schemas, configurations, and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in database administration with a focus on cloud-based solutions like AWS RDS and Azure SQL Database.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
• Familiarity with database migration, backup, recovery, and security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in documenting technical processes.
• Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) are highly preferred.
