Team Overview

The Compute Infrastructure Team focuses on building ultra-large-scale Kubernetes and serverless compute platforms powering millions of containers and offline AI/LLM workloads daily.
Key objectives:

• High-performance, scalable, and reliable cloud-native infrastructure.
• Support AI/LLM workloads with intelligent scheduling and resource optimization.
• Open-source contributions in the Kubernetes ecosystem (kubewharf, KubeBrain, Katalyst, Godel, etc.).

Responsibilities

Interns will work on innovation projects supporting diverse cloud-native applications, including containers, VMs, microservices, big data, and AI/LLM workloads:

• Kubernetes Cluster Management: Assist in managing ultra-large-scale K8s clusters.
• AI-Native Scheduling: Work with Godel K8s scheduler integrating AI intelligence for optimized task allocation.
• Node-Level Resource Management: Implement intelligent systems for heterogeneous resources (CPU/GPU, memory bandwidth, network bandwidth, power).
• Performance Optimization: Improve container runtimes and container image distribution efficiency.
• Control/Data Plane Stability: Contribute to Kubernetes plane stability with automated observability and monitoring tools.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Availability for a 12-week internship during Summer 2026.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, Golang, C#, or C++.
