Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you’ll work on cutting-edge switch control plane software, embedded drivers, and networking APIs. Your focus will be on low-level embedded software for Broadcom Ethernet switches, supporting critical networking features and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level embedded software, RTOS firmware, and bare-metal components
• Work with internal teams to define and architect switch control software
• Analyze and implement hardware interfaces: PCIe, TCAM, SERDES, DMA, PIO, MDIO, I2C
• Implement features related to Ethernet (L2), IPv4/IPv6 routing, MPLS VPNs
• Contribute to the Broadcom Switch SDK using C under Linux OS
• Support hardware teams in validation, emulation, and silicon bring-up
• Create detailed software specifications, presentations, and training materials
• Port SDKs to new CPU platforms and perform validation
• Collaborate with SQA for testing and debugging using CUNIT, TCL, Go
• Assist Application Engineering with customer issues and bug fixes

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Hands-on with L2/L3 switching, routing protocols, and network stacks
• Experience with RTOS and bare-metal firmware
• Good grasp of Linux internals, device drivers, and ARM architecture
• Strong communication and debugging skills
• Preferred: Experience with BSP development and porting on new hardware
