Role Description

As a Software Engineer at Booking Holdings, you will contribute to building scalable and high-performing backend services and internal systems. You will have ownership of development and technical decisions within your team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop robust backend services using Java
• Collaborate across teams to deliver cohesive and maintainable code
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and reliability
• Maintain Git-based version control with solid branching strategies
• Develop and maintain containerized applications using Kubernetes
• Write and maintain automation scripts using Perl
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for efficient testing and deployment

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of backend development experience in an object-oriented language (Java preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Git version control and collaboration workflows
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI)

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Willingness to learn and adopt new tools and technologies
