Job Description:

Basepair Inc is seeking a motivated DevOps Engineer to join their growing cloud and platform engineering team. This role is ideal for someone experienced with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD systems looking to contribute to scalable healthcare and genomics platforms.

Basepair provides SaaS solutions that analyze and visualize genomic data, collaborating with institutions like Harvard Medical School and Stanford University. This is your opportunity to work on a mission-driven team impacting healthcare worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, etc.)
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments
• Manage Kubernetes clusters for scalable deployments
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CDK
• Monitor system health, resolve infrastructure/performance issues
• Work with Python/Django backend (optional but preferred)
• Optimize and manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)
• Implement security best practices across the infrastructure
• Automate manual tasks using Bash or Python scripts
• Stay current with DevOps trends and tools

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Full Stack roles
• Strong expertise with AWS cloud services
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines
• Scripting knowledge in Python, Bash (Django/React is a plus)
• Familiarity with database optimization and NoSQL systems
• Knowledge of cloud security and IAM practices
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to mentor and collaborate with cross-functional teams
