Job Description:

Join Baker Hughes’ Digital Technology team to develop, tune, and deploy cybersecurity threat detection systems using Splunk SIEM and other advanced tools. Help protect enterprise IT & OT environments by designing detection rules, conducting threat analysis, and collaborating with security teams. Grow your expertise in cybersecurity engineering, detection analytics, and incident response in a fast-paced energy tech environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, test, and deploy security detection rules in Splunk SIEM
• Develop SPL queries for threat identification
• Tune alerts to reduce false positives and improve accuracy
• Support threat analysis and security monitoring
• Integrate new log sources and enrich detection data
• Collaborate with incident response and threat hunting teams
• Document detection logic and workflows
• Participate in security process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field
• 1-3 years relevant experience
• Foundational understanding of SIEM concepts and security monitoring
• Experience with Splunk SPL and Microsoft KQL query languages
• Basic knowledge of attack techniques (malware, phishing, lateral movement)
• Hands-on experience with Splunk in lab, academic, or professional settings
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK or similar frameworks
• Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Splunk Core Certified User, SSCP) preferred
• Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automation or data manipulation
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
