Job Description

Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated AWS DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is focused on the design, deployment, and optimization of mission-critical AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in DevOps practices, cloud automation, and DoD security compliance to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our enterprise-wide human resources system.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS native services to ensure secure and rapid software delivery.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Ensure DoD security compliance by implementing STIG-hardened environments and conducting regular security assessments.
• Collaborate with security and operations teams to enforce access control, encryption, and logging.
• Optimize performance and costs through proactive monitoring and tuning of AWS resources.
• Develop custom automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell to support build, deploy, and security workflows.
• Support disaster recovery planning and implement backup strategies for continuity.

Required Skills and Experience:

• U.S. Citizenship and DoD Secret-level Security Clearance (or ability to obtain an interim clearance).
• Security+ CE Certification or equivalent DoD 8570 baseline certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as an AWS DevOps Engineer, with exposure to Oracle-backed systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Hands-on experience applying DoD STIGs and hardening AWS infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, cloud security frameworks, and DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Familiarity with DISA STIG Viewer, SCAP tools, or ACAS for security assessments.
• Experience with centralized logging, SIEM tools, and incident response workflows.
